Collecting Screenshots

When collecting a screenshot, it is first important to determine what exactly you need in your screenshot. Are you looking to capture the entire screen? Is it just a small portion of the screen? Or are you just trying to capture the window you have open in its entirety? There are three separate ways to capture a screenshot that will give you the best option that you need.

1.)  Command - Shift - 3 : This option will screenshot the entire screen. This option is good if you have multiple windows open at once and need to document information from each of the windows open.

2.) Command - Shift - 4: This option will turn the mouse into a cross-hair in which the user will be able to drag and selection the portion of the screen they are attempting to screen shot.

3.) Command- Shift- 4 - Spacebar: Once pressing the spacebar, this option will change the cross-hair into a small camera icon which the user can place over the window they intend to capture. This will caused the window to become highlighted to show which window will be captured.

Producing PDF Files

PDF files, short for Portable Document Format is an easy way to document your information. PDF is an acceptable format for most types of files, and can be produced in three separate methods.

1.) Printing: When printing a document, the user has the option to print it in a PDF. In order to do so, when clicking on the 'print' screen, it will give the user the option to change to PDF on the bottom left hand of the window. After selecting PDF, press print.

2.) Exporting: Any document can be exported to a PDF file. This is possible by selecting File > Export > Adobe PDF. This function is typically done prior to printing a document.

3.) Save as: Any document can be saved as a PDF file. This is done by selecting File > Save As > PDF. The option to change to PDF will be under the pull down for 'Format'
